Sustainable Operations Finance Manager

Hello potential future Oatly employee. It’s us, the original oatmilk company that started in Sweden back 25 or so years ago and has since expanded to the U.S. where we’ve continued growing at a rate such that we need more brilliant minds to come work with us to keep the momentum going and the oatmilk flowing.

Sustainability, health, and transparency are the core values that guide everything we do. Basically, we exist to help people live a healthier life without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process, and to change the food system for the better. We drive that change through the power of oats and through a significant reduction in cow’s milk consumption. If any of this resonates with you, then maybe you’d like to work for Oatly, too. Now onto the formal stuff.

We are seeking a highly skilled and business-savvy Finance Manager to oversee financial operations for our Ogden and Millville manufacturing sites. In this leadership role, you will serve as the primary finance partner to Plant Directors and Operations leaders, driving financial discipline, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making across both factories. This is a critical role for someone who enjoys a blend of hands-on analysis and high-impact business partnership. This role will also have an active role in the monthly Integrates Business Planning process, working cross functionally with the NA SO team to highlight upcoming financial risks and opportunities.

Here are the things we want to hire you to do:

Financial Close, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Oversee the monthly financial close for both manufacturing sites, including updating of accruals, expense analysis, and variance explanations

  • Lead monthly financial forecast cycles in partnership with the SO Finance Director, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and clear communication of risks and opportunities

  • Deliver monthly performance reviews to site leadership with insights on cost drivers, KPIs, risks, and improvement opportunities

  • Provide managerial oversight of all plant inventory processes ensuring accurate production postings, timely order closures, and resolution of goods-issue discrepancies

  • Serve as the primary finance business partner to Plant Directors and factory leadership teams

  • Ensure financial reporting integrity and compliance with corporate accounting policies

  • Champion the use of Excel modeling and Power BI dashboards to enhance visibility and decision-making

Integrated Business Planning Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with IBP leads to provide P&L and Inventory financial impact of supply planning changes

  • Develop financial modeling that provides visibility to to the financial gaps and impact of supply and network strategies and target stock levels

  • Lead annual operating plan development for manufacturing facilities, ensuring cross-functional alignment and robust financial assumptions

  • Identify, evaluate, and communicate financial risks and opportunities, influencing operational decision-making

  • Lead the Cost Savings program by providing monthly financial tracking, validating benefits, and partnering cross-functionally to identify new opportunities

Capital Expenditure (CapEx) & Systems Ownership

  • Oversee capex financial processes, including ERP Project Module management, PO/invoice reconciliation, project tracking, and financial governance

  • Ensure appropriate documentation, spend control, and financial reporting on all capital projects

  • Leverage ERP capabilities (D365 preferred) to strengthen data quality and automate/improve financial processes

Here are the things we think you need:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 4–6+ years of progressive cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or supply chain finance experience, including exposure to plant operations

  • Strong understanding of factory cost accounting, standard costing, and general accounting principles

  • Advanced Excel modeling skills; Power BI proficiency is a plus

  • ERP experience required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication, partnership, and storytelling skills with the ability to influence across levels

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and adept at navigating multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive outcomes with minimal supervision

And here’s another list of qualities we think make a good Oatly team member:

  • You feel connected to our mission of encouraging health, sustainability, and transparency

  • You are a self-starter who doesn’t need direct supervision to motivate you for success – we believe strongly in building a culture of individual accountability and ownership, and need partners that can embrace that mentality

  • You are ready to make your mark in a smaller, growing brand, leveraging your experience to deliver amazing results and build an outstanding company

  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit in that you’re comfortable with ambiguity and are energized by the process of building something lasting from the ground up

  • You enjoy sharing your quirkiness and talents with your coworkers

Another bulleted list felt a bit too…bullet-y. So we wrote this long, awkward sentence to let you know all the ways we sweeten the deal when you work with us, like flexible vacation (take it when you need it), really great benefits (yes, pet insurance is in there), paid volunteer days off throughout the year (doing good is fun), free six packs of...(drumroll)…oatmilk, and you’ll also get genuinely great coworkers who are rooting for each other and the company to thrive. Oh, one more short but very important sentence: We are nimble and agile (not chaotic) in how we work, and we’re grounded in a long company history dating way back to the last century.
